For those of you who were unable to attend the annual Founder’s Day Banquet, we wanted to give an update on AGO Ministries. We exist to promote missions, ministry and scholarship to honor Jesus Christ and to show God’s love to college campuses and beyond.
The purpose of AGO Ministries is to expose AGO men to the opportunities of serving those in need and by sharing the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We accomplish this through one-time gifts to AGO chapters, and to nonprofits for missions trips involving AGO active members. We also fund scholarships to incoming freshmen attending universities where there is an AGO chapter.
In 2 Tim 1:7, we are reminded that “God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and self-control.” In the midst of so much fear surrounding us at the moment with Covid-19, we want to be intentional of showing God’s love through AGO. In that spirit, here are some basic vision points to give some direction for the future.
Vision
· When we founded, the original vision was just to send AGO men out in the mission field.
· Last year we have seen other great needs presenting themselves. One of those critical needs is for spiritual development (one of AGO’s purposes).
· AGO thrives and attracts men when there is a deep love for Jesus and a deep love for each other. In today’s culture, we must fight vigorously for this and we are ready to take steps in that direction.
· Our goal is to have a full-time, trained minister, to do nothing but see to the needs of our actives and alumni. This is a huge change in scope and vision.
We are excited to move toward this journey. I hope you are ready to help us share the gospel, serve those in need and work toward making AGO a place that every Christian man in college will want to be a part of THE Christ-centered Fraternity for Eternity.
