
Since its founding in 1927 by a group of bold and visionary college students at UCLA, Alpha Gamma Omega has expanded to over 30 chapters nationwide—all while remaining student-run and student-led, with dedicated alumni oversight.
For years, some chapters benefited from volunteer Chapter Advisors, alumni who provided spiritual and operational guidance. However, many chapters lacked strategic oversight, leading AGO to adopt a new, proactive approach in 2022: hiring Chapter Consultants—dedicated staff members who provide weekly training, retreats, and 24/7 spiritual coaching for student leaders.
But staff support is just one part of the equation. To empower, equip, and unite our student leaders, AGO now hosts annual National and Regional Trainings—transformational events designed to:
✅ Cast vision for AGO’s future
✅ Foster inter-chapter camaraderie
✅ Share operational strategies for chapter success
✅ Promote unity, prayer, and discipleship across the brotherhood
These retreats are completely free for students, ensuring that every chapter—regardless of financial resources—can benefit. However, as AGO grows, so do the costs of providing high-quality training experiences.
Every summer, AGO hosts a National Training event, gathering student executive leaders from every chapter. While we can secure free venues at AGO Houses in Southern California, the travel costs for students from our East, Central, and Mountain regions remain a challenge.
Our goal is to fully cover flights, lodging, and meals for 2-4 student leaders per chapter, ensuring that every chapter is represented and fully equipped.
In addition to National Training, we aim to host Regional Retreats each Fall and Spring. These events have proven to be powerful catalysts for unity, growth, and spiritual renewal. When students see AGO as a multi-chapter movement, it ignites inspiration, identity, and hope.
To keep costs low for students and encourage maximum participation, we seek to provide $5,000–$10,000 per year in subsidies for venue bookings, accommodations, and event resources. In the future, we plan to introduce guest speakers, professional development workshops, and expanded leadership training to further invest in our students’ growth.
We believe that strong, Christ-centered leadership doesn’t happen by accident—it requires investment. To ensure AGO remains a thriving force for Christ on college campuses, we are setting a goal to raise $20,000 annually to fully fund these National and Regional leadership events at no cost to our students.
